#REDFEST Better than ever for 2026!
#REDFEST

Ride4aReason
Sunday 5th July
Get together with friends and family and enjoy a fun, fully signed, off-road cycle ride
Take on the challenge your way - ride to raise money for a charity of your choice, support our nominated charity Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, or simply ride for the joy of it!
If you’d like to fundraise, you can share your story and invite support here or set up your own fundraising page for a cause that matters to you (an option for this is here).
Or just come along and ride - no fundraising required!
Routes
- Red - 4km (approx. 30 mins)
- Green - 8km (approx. 1 hour)
- Yellow - 12km (approx. 1.5 hours)
All routes start and finish at the Fête du Vélo on Redbourn Common. They're fully signed, colour-coded and numbered - simply follow your route colour and count the signs as you go.
The routes take you from the Common onto the Nicky Line and back.
Entry
£5 per person or £10 per family.
Includes a finishers medal and code word competition prize!
Sign on
On the day at the Information Desk at the Fete du Velo on the Common before you ride.
Start
Rides will leave the start point at 11.30am, 12.30, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Please walk your bike carefully from the Common, across the closed road circuit to the start point on West Common (opposite the Cricket Club Pavilion car park).
From there, follow the marked route across the Common, past the play area, down to Chequer Lane and onto the Nicky Line. The signed route will guide you all the way round and back to the finish near The Cricketers. Please take care when crossing West Common and Chequer Lane.
Code Word Challenge
Each route follows the same course, with different turnaround points on the Nicky Line.
At your turnaround point, you’ll find a code word along with a short piece of Redbourn history. Remember it!
Tell the team at the finish and you’ll receive a prize - along with your finisher’s medal!
